Classic nursery reveal plus an update

I have been super busy since the birth of our baby boy and that is why I have not posted much of anything at all.

Our 2nd baby boy was born March 19th, 2013. He was 8 pounds and 5 ounces and 19 inches long. It was a quick and fast delivery. I just couldn't possibly love him any more, he is the cutest little baby ever and I just cant stop giving him so many cuddles and love! He is always in my arms or my husbands and therefore I don't have much downtime to write right now.

Our handsome 2 year old is doing okay with the adjustment. He has acted out a lot but its been getting better. I love all 3 of my boys!! my husband, Westyn and Wyatt.

here is our new baby boy!

Now I am going to show you some in between photos of the room half way done. I refinished the dresser and crafted a lot of the wall art and decor.

I plan to post about my projects soon but i cant promise it will be today or tomorrow but I will soon :)

 BEFORE PICTURES :)

I had so many plans for this nursery and it turned out totally different along the way when I was finishing it up. I first wanted grey and white stripes with pops of yellow and elephant decor but then I remembered how much I love the classic vintage look. Once I finished the dresser and some of my decor projects for the room, I knew the plans for the room were changing. And i was not disappointed at all! I love how it turned out especially for such a small space.

I did stick with the elephant decor. I love my simple yet classic nursery! :)

And this next part is mainly just going to be pictures of the nursery and not a lot of writing ;)

I plan to post more details soon, I promise! :)

I told ya not very much writing :( but I promise I will update soon. I didn't realize how much I wouldn't have time to do certain things when the new baby came.

It has been so amazing with our handsome new baby boy, but busy busy BUSY i tell ya! :)

But i am loving every single minute of it.

Organized kids closets

I know I have not wrote a new post in forever and I apologize for that and will over and over again!

As you all know or now know, I am 38 weeks pregnant and chasing after a very fast toddler. I have also had a lot of pain recently because I do have an umbilical hernia and the last 2 weeks it has gotten worse and anything I rub aganist or even a pillow touching my stomach stings. It feels like my stomach is being ripped open.

And I have been getting ready for the new baby and cleaning a lot! I have done so many projects, I just have not updated the blog with them yet but I will soon!

Meanwhile I just switched my oldest sons room with the new baby's nursery because frankly I do not feel like painting that large of a room at 38 weeks pregnant. My husband works a lot otherwise he would help. So their rooms are switched and All I need to do is paint and wait for the delivery of the crib which is cutting it quite close to the deadline.

Well I wanted to show you a few pictures of how I organized the closets. I love classic and just timeless precious decor and I feel like both closets entail that.

This is the closet in the nursery! Not the best lighting so please excuse the horrible quality of the picture! The floating shelf I painted and sanded down. It was a thrift store find. The pacy jar I made and will post all about that soon!

Organized clothes sections

The name sign I made is blocked out at the top because we don't want family knowing the name quite yet.

This is our oldest sons closet. I put his overnight/diaper bag and a few other decoration things on the top shelf. I just used the blue shelf on the bottom that was previously for the new baby and added weekly initials to it and put outfits picked out on the shelf for each day of the week. I bought a little frame and used a dry erase marker to write "dirty laundry" on it.

A closeup of the shelf :)

Again I apologize for being so quiet. I know I have a few people reading but not too many so for those who do read i am sorry for not posting!

I plan to do a lot more after the new baby is here IF I have the time lol!

My somewhat updated pregnancy journal

I have been so busy this entire week with projects for the nursery! I feel like i am slackin' big time with updating here on the blog. I just wanted to take pictures and show recent updates to our pregnancy journal. Honestly I skipped a lot of weeks in the pregnancy journal but I think its still very special even missing a few weeks in between.

I am almost 37 weeks pregnant and Just plain ready! We have a hopeful date of induction and it should be around the 18th of March for all our family to know!

Here are a few pictures of my updates. Oh and how I made this pregnancy journal is in the project gallery.:)

I will be sharing at least 5 different projects I have been working on for the nursery. I am starting to feel a bit over whelmed. I just want to post it all but I have been so exhausted lately!

Hopefully I will start feeling more like myself soon and back to normal.
I love making scrapbook journals out of these school notebooks! its so much fun :)

This was my 20 week update and as you can all see, I was very smaller there.

We just recently had our ultrasound done and Our baby boy comes in weighing at about 7 pounds right now. I am almost 37 weeks now so i am curious how much more he gained...hmm maybe we should do a guessing game of how much we all think he will weigh eh?

And although I am 37 weeks (this Saturday , I took a pregnancy shot at 36 weeks so I am posting that up. My husband and I are just so excited to meet him. This is the first birth he will witness due to his deployment while our first son was born. I am over the moon excited to experience this together.

Also how is it possible for my fingers to get swollen and fat but not my feet? I know I have not drank nearly enough water this pregnancy but I would think my feet would swell too...well I guess I should just consider myself lucky instead of complaining about why something bad hasn't happened yet!

Well goodnight everyone and family and whomever else reads!
I love to do this blogging thing
I hope I am good at it
but then again nothing is perfect
and no one can ever really know
the "right" way to do something
especially blogging where there are so many
different tips out there to make it better and
blog better. I just want to blog about things and
share with family and friends. I think what makes a blog
is the person behind it. not all the technical stuff.

well I ramble I guess...sorry.

I cant wait to post more things about the nursery. I just hope I bust my butt and just get it finished!!

Fried french toast bites

I was craving a little treat for breakfast yesterday, a little sweet and yummy treat!

I just thought about this and experimented. I didn't know if they would turn out or not but they did. They tasted more like a dessert than anything but that's okay! Its still okay to indulge once in a while even if its breakfast!

I am not a person who eats a lot of candy and we hardly ever have any type of frozen treat like ice cream or Popsicles in our freezer. Practically never... So sometimes its nice to have a treat like this even if its for breakfast.

I love french toast and love making regular ol' french toast in mornings mixed with banana puree at least once weekly so this was definitely a different twist on it and my son loved it!

Yes it is as delicious as it looks!

Below I will explain to my best ability how I made it and then the recipe and directions will be below as well to copy down.

These are the ingredients. The things not listed are optional things like powdered sugar, and syrup.

(not pictured) Start by heating up your oil prior to starting the prep work for the meal. You will know your oil is ready by throwing a small piece of dough in there and if it bubbles then slightly turns brown then it is ready. Be sure to not start heating it up on high. Start by heating it up on medium.

A tip for the kitchen: Clean as you go! It makes for a smoother meal preparation!

Make sure to have a paper towel lined bowl out and ready to go so you can put them in the bowl after they are fried.

Beat your 4 eggs, vanilla, and 1 tbs cinnamon together. In a separate bowl mix sugar and the remaining cinnamon. Set aside optional powdered sugar for dusting.

Cubed biscuits. On accident I had gotten biscuits with extra butter in them. Next time I will look more carefully.

Mix your cubed biscuits in the egg mixture for about a good minute. Less or more if you would like.

Dip the biscuit into the cinnamon/sugar mixture and coat well.

Now its ready to pop in the oil. (not really pop, you might want to be careful. Hot oil..you know :) Be sure to be constantly watching them and turning them so they brown evenly.

When they are lightly browned like my above picture, then proceed to take them out and into your paper towel lined bowl or plate.

Dust with powdered sugar and add your maple syrup :)

Enjoy! :)

INGREDIENTS:
-1/2 cup sugar
-1/2 cup milk
-4 eggs
-2 tbs cinnamon
-2-3 cups oil
-1 tsp vanilla
-1 tube refrigerated biscuits
powdered sugar and syrup

DIRECTIONS:
-Start out by heating up your oil prior to starting anything else and having a paper towel lined bowl ready and set aside.
-While that is heating up, start mixing your eggs, cinnamon, milk and vanilla together in a bowl and beat together until well mixed together.
-In a small separate bowl, mix together 1 tbs of your cinnamon with the 1/2 cup sugar.
-cube up your biscuits.
-You may test out your oil to see if its ready by taking a small piece of the dough and dropping it in. If it bubbles and browns lightly then it is ready.
-Drop them  in the egg mixture for about 60 seconds and coat well.
-Next coat them well in the cinnamon/sugar mix
-They are ready to be added to the oil. Slowly drop them in at least 4 at a time.
keep an eye on them. Turn them to brown evenly. They are ready to come out when they are lightly browned all around.
Dust with powdered sugar and add your maple syrup! :)

cheesy chicken stuffed bread

My husband absolutely loves pepperoni cheesy bread and they sell it in every cafe, pit stop or grocery store here in PA! Well at least in Pittsburgh!

Well I wanted to make some of my own BUT I had forgot to grab pepperoni's in the store so I thought why not throw some chicken in the mix?! Maybe it will turn out good. Honestly, I really have no idea what I am doing, its all trial and error here :) But I am glad it turned out great!

Recipe and directions are at the bottom but first here are a few pictures of the process!

Ingredients:
-Pillsbury refrigerated french bread dough
-1/4 tsp minced garlic
-1 tsp lawrys season salt
-salt and pepper to taste
-1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
-1-2 cups cooked chicken

Step 1- So I have to say before I even started opening the dough or anything, I made sure to have my chicken cooked up and seasoned with salt and pepper, garlic and season salt.

Then I got my trusty pampered chef baking sheet out, sprayed it down and started unrolling the dough from the seam (as shown in picture.)

Step2- Sprinkle half the cheese spread on the dough.

Step 3- Add the seasoned cooked chicken and then top with the rest of the shredded cheese.

Step 4- Start carefully rolling up your dough and pinch the seams together so there is not an opening and lay seam side down on the baking sheet.

Step 5- Lightly slit a small opening in the top.

Ingredients:
-Pillsbury refrigerated french bread dough
-1/4 tsp minced garlic
-1 tsp lawrys season salt
-salt and pepper to taste
-1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
-1-2 cups cooked chicken

-Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Then start by cooking up your chopped chicken in a skillet and add the garlic, salt+pepper(to taste), and lawrys to the chicken and set aside.
-Spray down a baking sheet with cooking spray. Open your dough and set on the baking sheet. Find the seam and carefully open from the seam and spread out on the baking sheet.
-Spread about 1/2 of your prepared shredded cheese on the dough all around.
-Add your chicken and then top with the rest of the cheese.
-Now carefully roll up the dough to what it looked like before you unrolled it. Pinch the seams together so that there is not an open seam where things could potentially fall out. Place the bread seam side down (where you pinched together.) And then slightly cut a slit on the top.
-Pop in your preheated oven of 350 degrees and bake for 25 minutes. (give or take depending on your oven!)
-Enjoy
